Eating Paleo? Loving it? Me too!
All of this being said, I am trying something new! Paleo + Carb Cycling . a managed way to eat healthy carbs that maximizes weight loss and muscle gain. Sound appealing? I'll explain it further VERY SOON! (I'm on week one, so I'll let you know how it goes!)

taste better to you, richer . more fulfilling. It is meant to be a constant way of eating. Not just something you do when you need to take off a few pounds. That being said, Paleo offers A LOT of fun sweets. I've tried several recipes . and they are ALL delicious! Rich and satisfying. Knowing there is an option for when you are craving dessert makes Paleo manageable and do able. But before you dive headfirst into your pan of warm sweet potato brownies, remember: Sweets are sweets. Even if they are Paleo sweets. ANYTHING that has honey . or maple syrup . or chocolate chips . or dark chocolate . or full fat Reebok Club C 85 Pastel

So, the best thing to do is consider your goals. If you are trying to lose weight . stay away from Paleo sweets!!!! Especially in the first 30 to 45 days of switching to Paleo eating. This is tough. And worth it. It takes away the major cravings most of us experience for sugar. It changes your palate . your definition of what tastes sweet will change (I ate a bite of a store bought cake not long ago. I wanted to GAG! It was sicky sweet and tasted like fluffed sugar!) After your strict induction to Paleo, it might work to add an occasional paleo dessert back in . but if you struggle with willpower, DONT EAT IT AT ALL! Don't destroy your progress by thinking "It's ok, it's Paleo." Read my last post! If you are trying to lose weight, you are going to have to deny yourself something. You are going to have to change your thinking. You are going to have to feel hungry from time to time (Why do we think we have to fill our stomachs EVERY TIME we feel "empty" . are we truly "empty???" Would a quick walk . a talk with a friend . five minutes with your Bible fill the Reebok Purple Shoes
Consider your goals. Go after what you REALLY want! If you want to lose weight, make the decision to stick to a strict Paleo plan (NO SWEETS!). If you want to eat healthy and maintain your current weight, do Paleo . with an occasional treat added in. Set realistic goals . stick with them!
If you've reached your weight goal . feel free to sparingly add Paleo sweets into your diet. Sparingly. Pay attention to what you are eating! I truly think Paleo is a wonderful way to eat healthy, lose some pounds or manage your weight. I also think it makes sense to have healthy dessert options. I DON'T think we should eat in "diet" mode all the time . but MOST of the time, we need to adhere to a strick Paleo plan, so that when we "let loose" a little in our eating, it doesn't turn into a total BINGE or destroy the gains (or loses) we've made!
