"It will take additional investment. So, if you look at the $70.5 million (from the budget). a large amount of those dollars are going to Regina to help them increase their capacity to do more surgeries in the next year."
He said that they do not expect the Qu'Appelle Health Region to meet the 2014 goal of a three month wait time across the province.
"It holds government accountable and it holds the health region accountable," he said.
Surgery numbers from March show that there were 7,058 fewer patients waiting more than six months for surgery than in 2007. In nine of the 10 health regions that provide surgery, nearly all wait times have dropped to six months.
There is still a lot of work before meeting the 2014 goal of three month surgical waits. For Hohn the work won't end when they London Saucony meet that goal, they have to make sure they can maintain it.
"I'd attribute the success to several factors," explained Health Minister Dustin Duncan.
"One of the first questions that would come out of a patients mouth when they would come for a consult is 'we heard about the long wait list, how long is it going to take?'" said surgeon Dr. Frank Hohn.
Currently, the Qu'Appelle Health Region in Regina is not meeting the deadlines set out by government. The wait times are still between six months and a year.

He said that previously, the wait list for pediatric dentistry which is his department was three years. The wait has dropped 92 per cent.
McLeod has personal experience with waiting for surgery and dealing with the health system. Since 1995, she has had four major surgeries on her abdomen and other minor surgeries.

Surgery wait times continue to drop across Saskatchewan
She spoke at the third year release of the Saskatchewan Surgical Initiative progress report at Saskatoon's City Hospital Thursday afternoon. The report showed a dramatic drop in wait times throughout the province.
For the people across the province who have seen their health regions hit the six month target it has changed their life quality.
"So they won't hit it by 2014. Most likely the best case scenario is spring of 2015," he said.
"I think there are several factors of Regina not being where they need to be," he said.
"Now I tell the patients don't worry about the wait list and how much it will interrupt your life. When you are ready for surgery we know in a very predictable time, four months later, that you will have surgery."
"(We need a) responsible use of the resources. Right now we have a bit of a mismatch between human resources and operating room (OR) resources. It's important to be responsible with that OR time, it's expensive," he said.
She wanted to use her experiences to help so she became a patient advisor. Since beginning, she has seen massive changes.
